First Volunteer Bank Streamlines Operations and Drives Employee Engagement with Employee Intranet

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn., Apr. 25, 2018 – Banc Intranets, a provider of secure, web-based enterprise content management solutions for financial institutions, announced that First Volunteer Bank (Chattanooga, Tenn.) is leveraging its BancWorks® employee intranet to provide a centralized location for bank resources such as policies, documents and procedures, and to enhance the company’s employee engagement efforts.

To better serve its customers as the only community bank in Chattanooga, First Volunteer Bank sought a solution to improve how employees access internal resources and engage with the bank’s unique brand and culture. The bank, having utilized Banc Intranets DirectorsLink® board portal for more than five years, elected to also leverage Banc Intranets’ employee intranet due to the company’s proven experience designing products specifically for financial institutions. To further engage employees with the intranet, First Volunteer conducted a bank-wide survey to name the intranet and will also employ the intranet’s ability to centralize staff calendars, create and track ticket requests, manage employee training and create a central location for employees to share anniversaries and personal news.

“After successfully utilizing Banc intranets’ board portal, DirectorsLink, we were keen to see how its intranet solution would fit within our bank’s corporate culture and operations” said Judy Cartwright, COO of First Volunteer Bank. “In evaluating its capabilities, we felt BancWorks would best help our bank streamline operations by serving as a central resource for employees to start their day and continually refer back to important policies and procedures. It’s our goal for the intranet to be our employee’s first resource when they need to know something, file a request or check bank news and announcements.”

“Employee engagement plays a critical role in a bank’s efforts to not only attract employees, but also to retain them,” said Mark Anderson, founder and CEO of Banc Intranets. “With BancWorks, and by engaging employees in the customization process, First Volunteer Bank will be better positioned to train and equip both the current and next generation of bank staff.”
